Bringing the community together to create a great place to live, work and play
There’s never a dull moment here. We have some brilliant community centres and some fantastic parks and green spaces. There is always something going on.
We listen to each other, discover what we can do to make the community stronger and decide how to spend money together.
If you live or work locally, you can become a member of SBHG. It's free! Get access to community events, early ticket offers, a tool library, and an optional monthly private lottery
Springfield, Beech Hill and Gidlow CommUnity is a community association that covers the ward of Wigan West.
We're made up of the people who live here; local groups and associations and community minded businesses and local organisations.
We work together to make Springfield, Beech Hill and Gidlow the best it can be, now, and, in the future.
We do this by connecting people, having fun together and making the best use of parks, spaces and buildings.
This website provides information about what’s on in the area; shares local good news stories; offers ways of getting involved in local decision making and keeps a memory record we became a more connected and stronger community.
You can become a member; find ways of sharing your skills in community; join groups; create new groups; share ideas, stories and more.

Join us on 29th June, for an afternoon celebrating the flavours and cultures that make our community special.
We’re closing Park Road for the afternoon and opening it up to the people to create a space where neighbours can connect over shared food, art, music and poetry.
Here we share community news and stories about community events, groups and celebrations. You can also explore the story so far which captures the community story from March 2020. If you have a story to share, let us know.
Watch what happened during the pandemic, and how a neighbourhood was created.
Become a member of our private lottery for your chance to win, and to contribute to community life, and have you say on how it's spent.
