Community Food Share Festival
Sunday, 29th June 12-3pm
55a Park Road, Wigan, WN6 7AA (outside CommUnity Corner)
Join us for an afternoon celebrating the flavours and cultures that make our community special. We’re closing Park Road for the afternoon and opening it up to the people to create a space where neighbours can connect over shared food, art, music and poetry.
The idea is simple: bring a dish that means something to you – perhaps a family recipe, something from your heritage, or just a favourite you’d love others to try. All food will be freely shared, with nothing for sale.
Throughout the day, we’ll enjoy local live music, including Wigan True Levellers Community Samba Band and Martim Pochinho, a poetry recital, and a live art workshop with Gherdai Hassell, creating community art to explore our themes of humanity and celebration.
If you’ve never cooked for a crowd but want to try, we can provide support and kitchen space for anyone who’d like to prepare something for the event. Just drop into CommUnity Corner in opening hours and chat to us, or send us a message.
Let’s eat and strengthen the bonds that make our neighbourhood welcoming for everyone.
This free community event aims to bring people together across all backgrounds and celebrate our shared humanity.
