Northern Heart and Soul CIC, which operates Springfield, Beech Hill and Gidlow CommUnity, is a community association covering the Wigan West ward.
We’re made up of the amazing people who live here; local groups, associations, community-minded businesses and local organisations.
We work together to make Springfield, Beech Hill and Gidlow the best it can be, now, and in the future.
We do this by connecting people, helping people grow, having fun together and making the best use of parks, spaces and buildings.
We currently rent a building that provides a warm, welcoming, safe space for people from all walks of life to chat together. This space has become so welcoming that it is no longer big enough to host our public living room and diverse spaces.
Recently, a very popular local pub closed down.
Now we have the opportunity to create a permanent community hub that will serve local people for generations to come.
Your donation will help us take the next step towards making this vision a reality. Together, we can create a welcoming space where everyone belongs.
We would like to save this building and turn it into a multifunctional community hub that will also generate income for the community through the attached flats. Owning this building will also mean that the money that we currently spend on rent can be invested in the community, where it belongs.
It also has an outdoor space, which we know our community loves, as well as having plenty of space for a public living room, office space and even functions. Lots of potential!
If we aren’t successful in saving this building, we will continue our search for the perfect space for our ever-growing community group.
